The Wealden Community Sports Hub is a new sports and recreation facility located north of Hailsham, near the Boship Roundabout along the A267.

Operated by our partner, Leisure United, the Hub provides high-quality facilities for residents, clubs, schools and community organisations in Hailsham, Hellingly and the wider Wealden community to enjoy.

Local people and groups have helped shape the Hub through consultation and public engagement. It has been designed to help people enjoy active lifestyles, connect with others and benefit from the many health and wellbeing benefits of being active. Visitors to the Hub will have access to high-quality, inclusive and accessible sport and recreation facilities.

From Idea to Reality

The Wealden Community Sports Hub has been shaped through several years of planning, evidence gathering and community engagement.

Since the project's early development, local residents, sports clubs, schools, community organisations, children and young people have helped inform proposals through public consultation, exhibitions and targeted engagement activities.

The supporting information on this page all illustrate how your feedback helped shape the facility that visitors can enjoy today.

• Two floodlit full-size 3G football pitches
• Four dual-use floodlit netball and tennis courts
• Two padel courts
• Skate park
• Children's play area
• Sports pavilion

• Modern changing rooms
• Public toilets including a Changing Places facility
• 195 car parking spaces, including EV charging points

The facilities are designed to support community participation, physical activity and grassroots sport across all age groups.

Register Before Visiting

All visitors are encouraged to register for a free account and download a QR code before attending the Hub for the first time. Registering in advance will help support a smooth and efficient arrival experience. Once registration is complete, visitors can scan the QR code each time they attend.

For visitors under the age of 16, a parent or guardian can add them to an existing account and manage access on their behalf.

For those using the park, skate park or café only, registration is not required.

Arrival during the first few weeks

During the first few weeks after opening in August, visitors arriving to use the 3G pitches and courts are encouraged to arrive a little earlier than the scheduled booking time while visitors become familiar with the new access system.

The Leisure United team will be available on site to assist visitors, answer questions and support anyone who has not yet registered or cannot access a QR code.

Using the 3G pitches, courts and changing rooms

To use the 3G football pitches, courts and changing rooms, players, coaches and spectators will need to register for a free account and QR code before visiting for the first time. To enter these areas, visitors are required to scan their personal QR code at the gates by reception. Once registration is complete, visitors can scan the QR code each time they attend.

Using the Padel courts

Equipment hire

Padel rackets are available to hire from the Hub. A refundable £10 deposit per racket is required and will be returned at the end of your session once the equipment has been checked.

Playground and Skate Park Engagement

Thank you to everyone who contributed ideas and suggestions for the playground and skate park.

Feedback from local children, young people, families and community groups helped shape the final layouts and equipment choices that are now being delivered as part of the project.
