Thank you to everyone who provided feedback about the recent Draft Allocations Policy consultation.
The purpose of the consultation was to provide details of how social housing is allocated in the Wealden area, and to get your views on changes we are proposing in April 2024. Some of the comments raised have highlighted the need for us to be more transparent in terms of providing a breakdown of who is allocated housing based on age, ethnicity, gender and disability. We will look to introduce these statistics in the future and they will be published on our website.
Once a copy of the final version of the Allocations Policy is available, this will be added to our website, so that future applicants will have all the information available to them about the new changes and the criteria for applying.
Cabinet approved the changes in December 2024.
