Are you a budding photographer?
We want to see Wealden through your eyes!
We’re inviting residents of all ages to share photographs that capture and highlight the district’s stunning biodiversity, landscapes, and seasonal changes. We’re especially looking for creative perspectives that show how people live, work, and thrive alongside nature. Be as creative as you want!
Competition Categories
The competition has two categories with different age requirements for entry.
Wildlife and Nature in Wealden (Children and Young People Category) - We are looking for a photo which captures local animals or plant life in their natural setting.
The young persons category is open to young people aged 17 and underat the time of entry.
Entries will be divided into two age categories:
Ages 4 to 11
Ages 12 to 17
Changing Seasons of Wealden(Adult Category) - We are looking for a photo that shows how the environment transforms between seasons. This could be any seasonal change.
Please not all photographs must be taken within the Wealden District. Please take your photos responsibly, avoid disturbing wildlife, and follow the Countryside Code.
How to Enter
The competition is open to all UK residents of all ages and abilities, except anyone closely connected to the competition judging panel at Wealden District Council.
Please complete the online form below. There are two separate forms, one for the adult competition and one for the children and young people competition. Please make sure you are completing the correct form.
The photo can be taken on any device but must be uploaded using the correct entry form below in JPEG, JPG or PNG format and between 2MB and 10MB in size.
A joint or annual membership to Sussex Wildlife Trust
A professionally framed copy of photograph
Competition runners up in each category will get:
A £25 voucher for Sussex Wildlife Trust.
All winning and runner-up photos will be featured on the Wealden District Council Let’s Talk Engagement platform, website, social media channels and email newsletters.

Opens: Monday 13th October 2025
Closes: Friday 12th December 2025 (midnight)
Winners announced: Week commencing 12 January 2026
Judging of Photo and Notification of Winners
The winners will be chosen by a representative of Wealden District Council and the Climate Change and Communications team.
Winners will be contacted by email the week commencing 12th January 2026.
If the winner cannot be contacted or the prize is not claimed within 14 days, another winner may be chosen.
We reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
