We are currently conducting a feasibility study for the delivery of a new medical centre for the residents of Polegate and the Willingdon area. There is a pressing demand for improved primary care infrastructure as identified by the Sussex Integrated Care Board (ICB). A council-led development could mitigate challenges posed by market limitations, which have hindered private-sector delivery due to the rising costs and uncompetitive rental rates. The project scoping report to cabinet on 11th December 2024 details two potential sites - Hindsland and Mornings Mill - both with outline planning consent for the delivery of a medical centre.
If progressed this project will align with our commitment to supporting community resilience, climate action, and local economic growth.
