The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE), in collaboration with the University of Exeter, has developed the Community Carbon Calculator tool called Impact. Impact is a free, open-source, online tool providing small communities with easy-to-understand data about where most carbon emissions come from in their local area. Members of the community can then use this information to work together to cut emissions. Housing - Emissions resulting from residents’ use of energy in their homes.
Food and diet - Emissions resulting from the consumption of food and drink products by residents
Travel - Emissions resulting from the transport choices & behaviours of residents
Waste - Emissions resulting from the management of waste generated by residents
Consumption of goods and services - Emissions resulting from the purchase of goods and the use of services by residents.
Energy Efficiency
There are many ways we can all reduce our impact on the environment, lots of the advice for homeowners can also apply to local councils as they seek to improve the energy efficiency of their activities and assets.

The Sports Infrastructure Funding Programme is being launched by Wealden District Council. £600,000 will be invested over the next three years to improve outdoor sports pitches and facilities throughout the district.
The fund, which was originally announced to mark the Late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has reopened for new applications.
Groups can submit applications for grants of between £7,500 and £75,000 which can be used to cover up to 20% of capital costs associated with renovation and improvement projects.
