We are preparing the next stage of the Local Plan for the Wealden District (excluding the South Downs National Park). The Local Plan sets out our vision and planning policies for future development, including housing, employment, infrastructure, and environmental protection. Once adopted, it will guide planning decisions across the district.
The consultation is scheduled to run from 6th February to the 20th March 2026. During this time, we will be seeking views from residents, businesses, landowners, and other stakeholders on the draft proposals.
How you can get involved
We are organising 10 in-person exhibitions during the middle four weeks of the consultation. These exhibitions will give you an opportunity to view the draft Local Plan documents and speak to council officers.
18 deposit points across the district (including Wealden District Council Offices in Hailsham and East Sussex County Council Offices in Lewes) will hold hard copies of the consultation documents for anyone who wishes to view them in person.
