Wealden Weekly survey update – You asked, We did it

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our recent survey. We really appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us. It’s been incredibly helpful to see what you’re enjoying, what you’d like more of, and where we can do better. While it’s great to know we’re getting some things right, it’s also clear there are areas where we can improve — and we’re committed to doing just that.

Here’s what you can expect from the newsletter going forward:

More community-focused news
Many of you told us you’d like to hear more about what’s happening locally. We’ll be sharing more news about events across the district, highlighting local businesses, and promoting activities and opportunities you can get involved in.

More updates from your councillors
You asked to hear more about what your councillors are doing and we agree this is important. We’ll include more updates from councillors, councillor profiles and what they do and what they are doing in their wards to help better our communities and people.

Council news

You may have noticed that we have started to include we will include reminders of upcoming Full Council meetings, Full Council meeting summaries, council project news and updates.

More planning news
Planning issues matter to many of you, and we understand how important they are for our communities. We’ll include more updates on major planning applications, projects, and we’ll explain them as clearly as possible. Where it’s helpful, we may also share case studies or short interviews with members of our planning team to give you more insight into developments, laws, regulation changes and other areas we know are controversial to help deliver correct and factual information.

Layout and tone
A lot of you said you enjoy the way the newsletter is written, but even more asked for it to feel a bit more informal and conversational. We’ll do our best to make it warmer and more personal. That said, sometimes council work involves technical language — but we’ll always try to keep jargon to a minimum and explain things clearly.

Thank you again for your feedback. Please keep sharing your thoughts with us — this newsletter is for you, and we want it to reflect what matters most to our residents.
