Community Climate Action Groups in Wealden
Wealden is full of active community groups and motivated residents taking action on climate change every day. Many of these groups are run entirely by volunteers, so new supporters are always welcome. Whether you have a few hours a week or just want to help occasionally, there are lots of ways to get involved and make a difference.

3VA Wealden – A Voluntary Action group that supports community groups across Wealden with development, networking, legal advice, funding, and promotion.
Blue Heart – Focuses on flood awareness and resilience in southern Wealden and Eastbourne..
Clothes Swaps and Banks
- Donate your wearable clothes to local charities. Support recycling bring sites, second-hand school uniform exchanges, and Baby Bank and Beyond to help clothes and essentials find new homes and support families in need.
- Baby Bank & Beyond CIC – A volunteer led not-for-profit organisation providing clothes, equipment, and toys for children 0–10 years across Wealden and surrounding areas.

Community Fridges and Food Partnerships
- Community fridges let people share surplus food and reduce waste. Most are open to everyone. Find a community fridge near you using this helpful map.
Community Orchards

Green Transition Groups
- Green Transition Crowborough (GTC) – Promotes local climate action; supports Crowborough Community Pantry, Artytime Scrapstore, and Crowborough Repair Café.
- Greening Chiddingly – A community organisation working to create a sustainable, low-carbon future, promotes local food producers, and supports community projects.
- Selby Meadow / New Town Action Group - A community of volunteers working to protect and preserve the area as wildlife space for Uckfield residents and visitors.
- Wild Groombridge - A community wildlife project in the village of Groombridge which supports nature surveying and volunteering the area.
