Eastwell bridge arts project
In partnership with Hailsham Festival of Arts, £7,200 of Shared Prosperity funding was provided to support this project and improve the bridge which had suffered from graffiti for many years. Over 250 local artists submitted artwork, 77 pieces were selected and installed on the inner faces of the bridge. The artwork has now been installed and the new-look bridge was officially opened on Saturday 9th September 2023. Over 150 people attended the unveiling. We are glad to say this project has greatly reduced the graffiti on this bridge.
Please go to the Hailsham Festival website for more information about the project and the Hailsham Festival which this art work is part of. The BBC also ran this article on the project.
